Open Access Policy

Marine Ecological Journal operates under a Diamond Open Access model: all articles and issues are freely accessible to both authors and readers.

However, the editorial board particularly encourages submissions from PhD candidates (third-cycle higher education students), who are fully supported under this no-fee policy.

Diamond Open Access | Journal of Human-Technology Relations

Key Principles:

  • Free access to all materials – full-text articles can be read, downloaded, copied, shared, and printed without restrictions.

  • Free use for academic purposes – journal materials may be used in personal research, teaching courses, and presentations, provided proper citation of the original article is given.

  • License – all materials are published under the Creative Commons Attribution International (CC BY 4.0) license, allowing citation, sharing, and commercial use with mandatory attribution to the authors.

  • Copyright – authors retain full rights to their articles and may deposit the final published version or the accepted manuscript in any repository.

Access to the Archive

Full-text access to all published articles is provided immediately upon issue release and is available in the Archives section of the journal’s website.

This policy fully complies with the BOAI definition of Open Access and is compatible with most international standards for open access and scholarly material archiving.

Archiving and long-term retention policy

The editorial board of the scientific publication "Marine Ecological Journal" guarantees long-term storage and continuous open access to all published materials in accordance with the principles of Open Science and international standards.

All articles are stored in the publication's own digital archive, which includes full texts, metadata (authors, annotations, keywords, DOI). The configured system guarantees systematic creation of backup copies, and also reliably protects materials from third-party interference, unauthorized changes or destruction.

Access to the archive is provided through the official website of the journal.

The journal team continuously monitors current technological standards. If software is updated or digital file formats change, the entire archive adapts to the new conditions in such a way that users do not lose access to publications.

This policy is fully consistent with the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). It ensures continuous access to scientific achievements for the global community, thereby helping the journal to successfully integrate into international scientometric databases.

Open Data Policy

The journal encourages authors to deposit all data supporting the results of their research in open repositories (institutional, national, or international), in line with FAIR principles. A DOI or other persistent data identifier should be provided in the article metadata and/or in the Data Availability section.
