SEVASTOPOL AND NEAPOLITAN BIOLOGICAL STATIONS – FROM THE FOUNDATION TO PRESENT DAYS

The history of foundation and cooperation between Sevastopol Biological Station named in honour A. O. Kovalevsky (SBS, now – IBSS, Sevastopol, Ukraine) and Stazione Zoologica “Anton Dohrn” (SZN, Naples, Italy) based on archive and literature investigations are considered. The SZN first director A. Dohrn letters to the Staff of Russia Naval Ministry for commander, vice-admiral N. M. Chikachev relatively participation of officers in marine zoological collections composition, photocopies of A. O. Kovalevsky’s letters (from SZN archives) are illustrated for the first time.
