FIRST STUDY OF THE BACTERIOPLANKTON DISTRIBUTION IN THE NORTHWESTERN ARABIAN GULF
Keywords:
Arabian Gulf, bacterioplankton abundance, spatial and vertical distributionAbstract
Bacterioplankton abundance, as well as spatial and vertical distribution covering several stations in the northern and central part of the Arabian Gulf were investigated during summer 2001. The results indicated a spatial variability in the bacterioplankton distribution within the study area, but no depth difference in abundance due to the well mixed nature of its waters.
