Abstract

Carotenoid content in red salt from the Koyashskoye Lake has been determined – 40 g per 1 m2 of 1-cm surface salt layer. Carotenoid composition has been analysed: β-carotene content is about 94% of total carotenoids. Microscopy study has been shown the abundance of Dunaliella cysts in salt.
