FIRST INVESTIGATIONS OF MARINE TARDIGRADA FAUNA IN THE SHELF ZONE OF THE SOUTH-EASTERN CRIMEA (BLACK SEA)

During the investigation of meiobenthos of Dvuyakornaya Bay (south-eastern coast of the Crimea, Black Sea) in July 2011 in samples taken at a depth of 2 m, tardigrades Batillipes mirus and at the first time previously unknown for the Black Sea B. spinicauda and B. gilmartini were found. Species composition of tardigrades, their reproductive structure, quantitative development and ecological features have been studied. An overview of the existing classifications of the genus Batillipes based on morphological characters are given in the paper.
